Henrik Iversen has been appointed general manager of the New World Saigon Hotel in Ho Chi Minh City.
Iversen, who speaks English, Danish, Spanish, French and Swedish, has more than 26 years of senior managerial experience in "multi brands, food and beverages, operations and development in the hospitality industry."
His experience includes managerial stints at international hotels in the UK, Spain, New Zealand, Australia and Malaysia, and chef positions at hotels and restaurants in Australia, Britain and Spain.
Prior to Vietnam, Iversen was the resident manager of an international hotel in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and executive assistant manager of a five-star hotel in Canberra, Australia.
Iversen graduated with a hotel management degree from the City and Guilds of London Institute at the University of West London in 1983.
"Over the years I have gotten to know many people who have worked in Vietnam, and they loved it. I am very much looking forward to working in Vietnam and experiencing the rich cultural background and traditions," the new general manager said.
