The latest Apple product in its smartphone series, iPhone 5, will be available in Vietnam and other selected Southeast Asian countries as of December 21, Vietnam News Agency reported on Tuesday.
A representative of VinaPhone, which together with the military-owned Viettel are Apple's official distributors of iPhones in Vietnam, was quoted as saying that 6,000 iPhone 5s, including all three models: 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB and both colors (black and white) will be available at 30 locations nationwide.
However, he did not reveal about the prices, including the network package that goes with the phone, the report said.
Other countries in the region that will begin selling iPhone 5 four days before Christmas are Malaysia, the Philippines and Indonesia, according to the news agency.
On the official Apple website, prices for the 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB versions of the iPhone 5 are listed as US$199, $299, and $399 respectively.
