Vietnam's small-cap bourse Hanoi Stock Exchange has signed an agreement with China's Shenzhen Stock Exchange to boost cooperation and develop new products.

The bourses agreed to exchange market information and strengthen knowledge about the development process on the other side, the Vietnam Economic Times reported Wednesday, citing an official of the Hanoi Stock Exchange.

The Hanoi market, after six years of operation, has a total capitalization of just US$5 billion as it is populated with penny stocks. The bourse recorded an all-time low of 76.81 points on Friday.

According to China's Xinhua news agency, Shenzhen Stock Exchange is one of the country's two stock exchanges. It lists shares of 1,277 companies with a total market capitalization of $1.3 trillion.
