World famous business magazine Forbes will be available in Vietnamese Tuesday when the first issue is published, while a digital edition will be launched three months later.
Each issue of the monthly magazine will have 25,000 copies printed, Nguyen Bao Hoang, director general of IDG Ventures Vietnam, said at the launching ceremony on Monday.
Vietnam Communications Corporation, funded by IDG, collaborated with Van hoa (Culture) newspaper to buy the rights to publish a Vietnamese version of the magazine from US-owned Forbes Media LLC.
Forbes Vietnam is the 29th international version of the magazine and the sixth in Asia, where it prints 425,000 copies per issue and records five million hits to its websites each month, the ceremony heard.
Dan Tri online newspaper quoted Hoang as saying they also planned to organize courses and conferences with rich and successful guest lecturers, which will be the magazine's main source of income.
Meanwhile, Christopher Forbes, vice chairman of Forbes Media, said they have long wanted to enter Vietnam's market.
Pham Nhat Vuong, who earlier this year became the first Vietnamese to make Forbes' list of billionaires worldwide, will grace the cover of the first issue of Forbes Vietnam. Vuong, 44, a property developer, was ranked 974th with a net worth of US$1.5 billion.
