Finnish companies consider Vietnam one of Asia's most attractive markets, and the Vietnamese government has pledged to facilitate their investment in key areas.

Vietnam welcomes Finnish investment based on mutual benefit, President Nguyen Minh Triet said Saturday, concluding a four-day visit to the Scandinavian nation.

Triet also told Finnish Prime Minister Matti Vanhanen that as the current chair of the Associaton of Southeast Asian Nations, Vietnam was willing to act as a link between Finland and the regional bloc.

He said Vietnam will facilitate Finnish investors in key sectors including electronics, telecommunications and shipbuilding.
