Three major international exhibitions for the supporting industry will involve the latest global technologies and hopefully establish business alliances in the field this October in Ho Chi Minh City.

As many as 500 leading brands from 25 countries and territories are expected to show up and present at the two shows: METALEX Vietnam, an international exhibition of machinery and metal processing solutions geared towards increasing capacity; and NEPCON Vietnam, an exhibition on assembling, measuring, and inspecting technologies for electronics manufacture.

METALEX Vietnam has been held in the city for six years and NEPCON five.

One key event will be the "Business Alliance for supporting Industry in Ho Chi Minh City" exhibition.

It will seek to set up policies to help develop Vietnam's supporting industry through trade cooperation rather than being a mere display, said organizers at Reed Tradex, ASEAN's leading exhibition organizer based in Bangkok and a member of the world's leading events organizer Reed Exhibitions.

Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) and Ho Chi Minh City Investment and Trade Promotion Center are co-organizing the events.

Hirotaka Yasuzumi, managing director of the city office of JETRO, said the new exhibition will hopefully bring more effective support to the country's industries.

The events will be held between October 10 and 12 at their regular venue Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center at  the Phu My Hung urban area in HCMC's District 7.
