Vietnamese tax payers will be able to settle their payment electronically via Internet, mobile phone, or ATM from January 1 next year, according to a circular recently issued by the Ministry of Finance.
The electronic payment methods, which also include paying via taxation agencies' websites, allow tax payers to transfer money from their bank accounts to the agencies, the circular says.
Under the circular, people can register to declare tax electronically by filling in applications at taxation agencies' websites or sending paper applications to the agencies.
Within three working days, the agencies will inform their bank accounts via e-mail if the applications are valid.
In case the applications are rejected, the agencies will give detailed reasons.
Tax payers whose applications are accepted can declare tax at the taxation agencies' websites or use software supplied by these agencies and send the file to them.
