AusCham to host mid-year legal development review

The Australian Chamber of Commerce in Ho Chi Minh City organized the Mid-Year Legal Developments Review, a business breakfast on Thursday, June 30 at Sofitel Saigon Plaza, 17 Le Duan Street, District 1, starting at 8 a.m.

During this business breakfast, participants will discuss topics such as recent legal developments in the laws affecting foreign exchange, real estate, labor, banking and borrowing and WTO changes in January 2012.

On this occasion, three experienced lawyers living in Vietnam (Nigel Russell, Partner from Allens, Arthur & Robinson, Mark Fraser, Managing Lawyer from Frasers Law Company and Geoff Sutherland, Foreign Legal Counsel from Vision & Associates) will present a mid-year review of major current legal developments.

Fraser has been working in Vietnam since 1995 and was recognized as one of Vietnam's top lawyers by the Asia Pacific Legal 500 and Chambers Global, The World's Leading Lawyers for Business.

Fraser's practice focuses on commercial, banking, finance, real estate and infrastructure projects.

Russell, a former president of Auscham graduated with degrees in Law and Economics from the Australian National University. Russell advises clients on most aspects of investing and doing business in Vietnam, focusing on joint ventures, infrastructure and property development projects.

Sutherland serves as a special counsel for Norton Rose, a top-ten international law practice.

Sutherland advises clients on a wide range of legal issues including infrastructure development, project finance, joint ventures, swaps and derivatives, banking, and corporate restructuring.

The fee for members and co-host members is VND650,000 and non-members is VND800,000.
