The Australian Chamber of Commerce will deliver its annual business awards next month to Australian and Vietnamese groups that have helped better the local business environment, the chamber said in a press release.
Wayne Bannon, AusCham national president, was quoted in the release as saying that it's important to recognize those who have made contributions to Vietnam's economy.
"Developing successful Australian businesses in Vietnam is integral to strengthening the relationship between our two countries," Bannon said.
This year's awards include the Overall Business Excellence Award, the Hospitality Award, the Innovation Award, the Corporate Social Responsibility Award, the Professional Services Award, and the Alumni Award for an excellent individual in any given industry or occupation who graduated from an Australian higher education institution at least five years ago.
All applicants must be AusCham members and have business links to Australia.
Applications close on October 7, 2011 and the winners will be announced at a gala dinner at the Reunification Palace in Ho Chi Minh City on November 10.
