Japanese retailer Aeon said it will build a US$100 million shopping center in Ho Chi Minh City next year, the first of seven outlets it plans for Vietnam, according to a report in The Saigon Times web site on Thursday.

The Aeon-Tan Phu Celadon shopping center is expected to start operation in 2014 in an 82.5-hectare area in Tan Ky-Tan Quy Street, Tan Phu District.

Aeon received the Vietnamese investment license on October 13 during a visit to Japan by Le Thanh Hai, Chairman of HCMC People's Committee.
