Authorities in the central province of Quang Nam have approved the environmental impact assessments of two plants that will process waste from gold ore in Vietnam's largest gold mine.

The facilities to be established in Bong Mieu village, Phu Ninh District, are each expected to process 3,000 tons of waste every month, extracting a total of 22.7 kilograms of the precious metal every year.

Both will be built by 6666 Industrial Minerals Joint-stock Company.

Bong Mieu is estimated to have over 30 tons of gold.
