$11 billion in tourism revenues targeted in 2015

Vietnam targets generating US$10 billion to $11 billion in tourism revenue and attracting 7 million to 7.5 million overseas visitors in 2015, according to a statement posted on the government's website Monday.

The country aims to attract 10 million to 10.5 million international visitors in 2020, and generate $18 billion to $19 billion in tourism revenue, according to the statement.

Vietnam hosted 6 million overseas tourists in 2011, a 19.1 percent increase from 2010, according to the General Statistics Office.
