The annual World Police Band Concert will come back to Vietnam this weekend after a successful event in 2011, local media reported.
The 20th festival, organized by the Mainichi Shimbun, one of the major newspapers in Japan, will take place in Ho Chi Minh City.
Since 1996, the event has been held in a number of countries including Japan, France, Spain, Germany, the US, the Netherlands, Singapore and Indonesia.
This weekend, the event will feature performances by five groups from Vietnam’s Ministry of Public Security and the police departments of New York, Singapore, Tokyo and Osaka.
The five groups will join a parade along HCMC’s downtown streets at 8 a.m. on Saturday, according to the organizer.
Later they will perform at Hoa Binh Theater in District 10 at 3 p.m. on Sunday.
In 2011, the event was held in Hanoi.
