Vietnamese-Canadian to perform jazz dance

John Huy Tran, Vietnamese-Canadian choreographer and judge of the Vietnamese version of "So You Think You Can Dance," will perform jazz dance on March 15, 16, and 17 at Ho Chi Minh City's Youth Cultural House. 

The event will feature traditional jazz movements borrowed from famous Broadway musicals like Cabaret, West Side Story, New York New York as well as modern afro jazz, lyrical jazz, pop jazz, and street jazz.

Dancers from Tran's Urban Dance Group performed at a press conference held to announce details of the show.

The three-day event, scripted and co-organized by Linh Rateau, art manager of Dancenter, Tran's other dance training school, will also feature Lam Vinh Hai, winner of the first season of "So You Think You Can Dance" last year.

Two of the other semifinalists in the contest, Vo Hong Nhung and Do Quang Dang, will be special guests at the program, which will start at 7:30 p.m. on March 15-16 and 3:00 p.m. on the 17th.
