Vietnamese short films screened in Phnom Penh

Ten Vietnamese short films from the official line-up for the first edition of the Yxine Film Festival in 2010, themed "Love", will be screened in Cambodia on September 17.


The program consists of three parts, the first of which will present three award-winning films, including Thinking of You (2009) by Vu Quang Huy, animation film Up in the Tree (2010) by Bui Quoc Thang, and animation film The Journey Unknown (2009) by Do Dang Thuong.


Themed Love and Family, the second part will show three films which deal specifically with love within the family. These are the ten-minute documentary, Garden by Doan Hoang Kien; Mother and Daughters (2009) by Phan Huyen My; and Oh Mommy! (2007) by Jenni Trang Le, 5 min, animation.


The last part celebrates a new generation of filmmakers who are making waves, according to Marcus Manh Cuong Vu, Festival Director of YxineFF.


This section will show: the horror film Behind the wooden door (2009) by Ta Nguyen Hiep; the experimental Les cheveux qui poussent à l'envers (2010) by Truong Que Chi; Cut (2009) by Tran Ly Tri Tan; and horror film Trapped (2010) by K5.


The screening will take place at the Meta House in Phnom Penh.
