The winner of the popular TV show Project Runway Vietnam will show off his designs at a fashion show in New York this Sunday.
Ly Giam Tien will present his "Dark Raven" collection at the New York Couture Fashion Week, together with other haute couture designers from around the world.
Tien said the collection was inspired by the “mysterious and powerful” bird, and it uses some exotic materials.
beU Models and Talent Management, a model training and management company in Ho Chi Minh City, arranged for the 19-year-old designer to join the event as an award for his success at the contest last July.
The opportunity will give him great experiences in the professional fashion design industry, a source from the company said.
Tien, who did not receive any official training in fashion designs, has introduced two collections in Vietnam since winning the contest.
Mau Thuy, winner of Vietnam’s Next Top Model 2013, and Quynh Chau, a Next Top Model finalist, will don Tien’s costumes at the fashion week, which is not associated with the more prestigious Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week happening around the same time.
