Vietnamese musicians win prizes in Italy competition

Three Vietnamese contestants won prizes at the 10th Val Tidone International Music Competition held June 10-17 in Piacenza city, Italy.

Pianist Nguyen Dang Quang won the top prize in the under 15 category and Ta Quang Vu of the Tchaicovsky Academy, Moscow, won the second prize.

Accordionist Pham Quang Huy of the Vietnam National Academy of Music won second prize in the under 19 category.

This year's competition attracted 129 participants from 20 countries and territories. This is the third time Vietnam was taking part in the annual event.

Professor Luu Quang Minh was invited to serve as a judge in the accordion competition.
