For the first time Vietnamese musicians will take the annual Toyota Concert Tour to Laos and Cambodia in addition to their normal annual concerts in Vietnam.
The tour, organized by Toyota Vietnam Foundation and the Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra, will take them to Vientiane (Laos) on July 24, Phnom Penh (Cambodia) on July 28, Ho Chi Minh City on August 1 and Hanoi on August 5 and 6.
Under the baton of Japanese conductor Honna Tetsuji, talented violinist Bui Cong Duy, tenor Trinh Thanh Binh, and other Vietnamese artists will perform works by German maestro Ludwig Beethoven besides Vietnamese songs.
They will include Violin Concerto in D major Op. 61, Symphony No.5 in C minor Op.67, and Gap nhau tren dinh Truong Son (Meet on the top of Truong Son Mountains Range) composed by Hoang Ha and Tinh ca (Love song) by Hoang Viet which eulogize the friendship between the three countries.
The concerts in Laos and Cambodia, entry to which are by invitation only, will also feature local instrumentals works.
The proceeds from ticket sales in Vietnam will be used to support 100 local music talents.
The Toyota Concert Tour, first held in 1998, is financed by the carmaker's foundation to support young Vietnamese classical music talent and promote music in the country.
The concerts in Vietnam will begin at 8 p.m. at the Hanoi Opera House and at the HCMC Opera House. Tickets are available for VND500,000, 350,000, 200,000 and 100,000 (students only) at:
