Vietnamese, Korean artists perform chamber music in HCMC

A chamber music concert featuring artists of the Ho Chi Minh City Ballet Symphony Orchestra and Opera (HBSO) will be held at the city's Opera House on Oct 9.

 

The artists will perform special chamber music works from renowned composers of Romantic Music as well as famous pianists in their time: Robert Schumann, Johannes Brahms, Edward Grieg, George Gershwin and Henryk Wieniawsky.

 

The first part of the concert will feature Grieg's Sonata for violin and piano No.3, Schumann's  Adagio & Allegro in A Flat Major for Cello and piano, and Leonard Bernstein's Arias from opera "Candide" for soprano and piano.

 

Gershwin's Preludes for clarinet and piano, Wieniawsky's Polonais Brilliant for violin and piano Brahms Piano Quartet No. 1 in G Minor will make up the second part of the concert.

 

Among the performers are top HBSO artists Nguyen Tan Anh, Ly Giai Hoa, Dao Nhat Quang and Tang Thanh Nam; as well as Korean guest artists pianist Joo Eun Young and soprano Cho Hae Ryong.

 

Tickets are priced from VND60,000 to 300,000.

 

HCMC Opera House is located at 7 Lam Son Square, District 1.
