A documentary about the life of a Vietnamese martial artist won the Guirlande d' Honneur at the 28th Sport Movies and TV festival in Milan.
Titled Doi vo (A lifetime of martial arts), the documentary chronicles the moving story of veteran martial artist Ngo Bong, who grew up in the central province of Quang Ngai.
Bong is a noted master of Hung Ke Quyen, the Vietnamese martial art that dates back to the 18th century.
Thirteen television and cinema works including feature films, documentaries, TV reports, television shows, cinema technology and advertisements also received awards at the festival, which ended on November 2.
Representatives from 103 countries participated in the event. Italy won four awards while China and Russia took two at the festival.
The award winning films will be screened in Doha (Qatar) between November 15 and 18, according to the Federation Internationale Cinema Television Sportifs (Federation of International Cinema and Television Sport).
