A Vietnamese famous wedding clothes designer will throw a colorful fashion show for gay couples this month.
Organizers of the Happy Color fashion show said at a press briefing Friday they have consulted with the local LGBT (Lesbian-Gay-Bisexual-Transgender) community for the designs.
The models are also LGBT people, they said.
Designer Caroll Tran said that “Happy Color is for a better society.”
The 35-year-old, who owns a wedding studio in Hanoi and has run various fashion shows at luxury hotels in the capital, said the show is not for profit.

“It is meant to provide a new picture about happiness, marriage and family, and to give parents of gay children a positive view of their sexuality.”
All items in the collection will be auctioned afterward to raise funds for gay couples with financial hardship.
The show will be held on May 16 at Quan Ngua Stadium in Hanoi, with musical performances by local singers and bands.
Vietnam has already lifted a ban on same-sex marriage. The country however does not provide legal recognition for same-sex couples.
