This year's Vietnam China Mid-Autumn Festival will take place at the Museum of Ethnology in Hanoi from September 17 to 20.
The event, co-organized by the Vietnamese Museum of Ethnology, the Museum of Yunnan ethics, the Yunnan Opera Institute and the Chinese Embassy in Vietnam, will feature Vietnamese and Chinese demonstrate traditional folk games and toys for children, including decorative multi-colored lantern and masks.
Demonstrations of the two countries' traditional moon cake baking methods will also be held during the event.
This is the first time the Museum of Ethnology will host a performance of Chinese opera. The event will also include performances of the lion dragon dance and water puppets, as well as cultural screenings, singing and dancing.
This is the third time the Vietnamese Museum of Ethnology has held such a cultural exchange in celebration of the Mid-Autumn Festival. Korean and Japanese delegations were invited to perform during the Mid-Autumn festivals in 2007 and 2009, respectively.
Tickets to the Vietnam-China Mid-Autumn Festival are available at the Vietnamese Museum of Ethnology, located on Nguyen Van Hien Street, Cau Giay District.
