Vietnamese singer Ho Quynh Huong was named "Asia's Sexiest Vegetarian Celebrity Woman 2013" by the Asia Pacific branch of the well-known animal protection nongovernmental organization PETA.
Huong narrowly beat out fellow singer Vo Ha Tram, beauty queen Truong Thi May, and actors Viet Trinh and Maggie Q.
Huong is famous for her sensual and unique voice, which helped her win Lan Song Xanh's Most Favorite Singer award four years in a row. She also received a Singer of the Year nomination for the Commitment Award in 2012.
"I used to force myself to abide by a strict diet to keep my weight stable when I ate meat, but that is no longer a concern now. Ever since I adopted a vegetarian diet, my weight has been kept under control without any extra fat," she said.
"Besides, my skin is also better. My professional makeup artist says that my skin brightens up easily with just a soft layer of makeup."
PETA Asia Vice President Jason Baker said that Huong understands that going vegetarian is the best thing that you can do for animals, the Earth and your health.
"Plus, she's living proof that being vegetarian keeps you slim and sexy," he added.
Actor and singer Chen Kun of China won the title of Asia's Sexiest Vegetarian Celebrity Man.
