Vietnamese film Yellow Flowers on the Green Grass on Saturday won the award of "Features Films of 2015" at an annual film festival in Fuzhou, southeast China’s Fujian province.
Directed by Victor Vu, one of Vietnam’s top filmmakers, the movide shared the award with China’s Saving Mr Wu and Russia’s Puppet Syndrome at the second Silk Road International Film Festival, which concluded on Saturday.
Set in the mid 1980s in a poor countryside village of central Vietnam, Yellow Flowers on the Green Grass is a nostalgic story of two young brothers who share everything but also compete with each other while vying for the attention and affection of a young girl.
The film, based on an award winning and best-selling novel by Nguyen Nhat Anh, is scheduled to premiere on Tuesday.
Jackie Chan, the ambassador of the Silk Road Film Festival, says he hopes the festival can draw attention worldwide and become the Chinese equivalent to the Oscars.
