Vietnam auditions for ASEAN orchestra next week

The Southeast Asian Youth Chamber Orchestra (SEAYCO) is looking for young talented musicians from ASEAN countries to join it, the Goethe Institute in Vietnam announced Saturday.

SEAYCO is organized by the Mahidol University (Thailand) and the Goethe Institute in Southeast Asia.

25 young musicians will be selected on the basis of auditions.

Auditions for young Vietnamese artists will be held at the institute, 56 58 Nguyen Thai Hoc Street, Ba Dinh District, Hanoi, on August 11 2012 from 9.00 am.

As members of the regional orchestra, every year, the musicians will have chance to attend a two week Masterclass led by a famous conductor.

This year, the first Masterclass will be conducted in October by Professor Nicolás Pasquet from the Liszt School of Music Weimar, Germany. After the course, SEAYCO will perform in Bangkok and Yangon.

SEAYCO members will perform together for 3 years.
