Viet Kieu make-up guru makes maiden visit to Vietnam

Michelle Phan, the Vietnamese-American who became a YouTube sensation with her make-up tutorials visited Vietham late last month as French cosmetic brand Lancôme's spokesperson.

It was the first time that Phan was returning to her  homeland.

During  her visit, she launched a new  cosmetic brand of Lancôme, hosted a workshop with special customers and shared her make-up experiences with staff and public at the Diamond Plaza and Parkson malls.

Phan was born in Boston, Massachusetts in 1987 to Vietnamese parents. Since 2006, she has produced and posted over 200 videos on various ways to take care of one's skin and apply make up. Her videos have attracted millions of views.

The self-taught make-up instructor joined the Lancôme team in February 2010 as the brand's first-ever video makeup artist.

In May 2011, Michelle launched her personal website,, as the go-to resource for everything related to beauty, lifestyle, fashion and more.
