A contest featuring world and Vietnamese famous spots carved from different kinds of vegetables took place in Ho Chi Minh City on Sunday, Lao Dong (Labor) newspaper reported.
The event is part of the four-day Taste of the World culinary festival which wrapped up the same day at September 23rd Park in District 1.
Thirty-seven contestants showed their talents with carvings of famous spots such as One Pillar Pagoda, Ha Long Bay, the Colosseum, the Great Wall and the Taj Mahal.
Two carving works illustrating the Hanoi-based Mot Cot (One Pillar) Pagoda and the Po Nagar Cham tower in Khanh Hoa Province won the first prize.
