Around 3,000 precious, rare artifacts have been donated to Hanoi Museum as the result of a nationwide campaign begun one year ago to collect historical artifacts relating to the capital's history.

Collector Bui Huu Hung of Tay Ho District in Hanoi has donated 630 items, including eight bronze drums, and a bronze and pottery collection.

Historian Duong Trung Quoc has given three ancient edicts, while the Doai antique club has pitched in with 123 items.

The donated artifacts include 40kg of ancient coins and other artifacts dating back to the pre-doi moi period in Hanoi from many individuals and the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology.

All the artifacts are being listed and assessed before being displayed at the Hanoi Museum in the near future, museum officials said.
