Following 40 countries and territories worldwide, The X-Factor will make its Vietnam debut this year.

The local adaptation of the reality show, called "Nhan to bi an," which is an translation of the X-Factor, will have four categories for both solo acts and groups, instead of the original's three: for males from 16 to 25 years old; for females from 16 to 25; male and females 25 and above; and groups with members over 16 years old.

Aspirants will compete in five stages, including producer's audition; judges' audition; bootcamp; judges house and live shows that will be broadcast on VTV3 at 9 p.m. every Sunday starting March 30, 2014.

According to a press release from the show's producer, the Cat  TienSa Company, the audition will be held in Da Nang city Oct 29-30; in Hanoi November 2 3; and Ho Chi Minh City November 29 - 30.

The X Factor is a British television music competition that aims to find new singing talent. Created by Simon Cowell, the show began in September 2004 and has since aired annually from August/September through to December.

 It is broadcast on the ITV network in the UK and TV3 in Ireland, with a spin-off behind-the-scenes show The Xtra Factor screened on ITV2.
