The story of a burglar who is trapped and pays dearly for his greed in the short film "The safe," by the team Lam Thien, has won the top prize of the second season of the "Canon 48 Hour Film Project" held in Vietnam.
The grand finale was held at Hanoi Opera House on November 12, after the contest was launched nearly one month ago in the capital city. Fifty two teams attended this year's competition.
The first season was held last year in Ho Chi Minh City.
The winner of the short film competition will receive VND40 million in cash, and also qualified to compete in the Filmapalooza Film Fest in New Mexico, United States, next year.
Additionally, the film could be screened at the short film event at Cannes International Film Festival.
In addition to winning "Best Movie," the Lam Thien team also won "Best Screenplay," "Best logical character" and was one of the thress best audiences' favorites.
The second place award went to the First WAFM team for their short film "Ngay dau tien cua mua thu" (The first day of fall). Do Quoc Trung won the Best Director award for that film.
