Thai PBS, the public broadcasting service of Thailand, will start screening Saturday a documentary series on Vietnam to mark the 35th anniversary of bilateral relations between the two countries.

The seven episodes introduce, inter alia, the lives and memories of Vietnamese people who returned to their homeland from Thailand; the 54 ethnic groups in Vietnam; and the life, language, customs and traditions of the Black Thai and White Thai ethnic groups in Vietnam.

Thepechai Yong, director of Thai PBS, said that the channel wanted the documentary series to show the love of the Vietnamese people for their homeland.

He also said that he wanted to bring more information about Vietnam to the people of Thailand because "we live in the same ASEAN community but we do not know much about each other."
