Ten aspiring designers students of national universities and colleges have been shortlisted after a selection process that began in November, to contest the final round of the Triumph Inspiration Award instituted by the famous lingerie maker.
The works of the ten finalists were chosen by a jury from more than five hundred designs submitted. A jury member said it was hard to choose the best from many good ones to represent Vietnam for competing in the international contest held in Berlin this July.
To celebrate the 125th anniversary of Triumph there is no main theme for the contestants to limit their creativity. The finalists have a little more than three weeks - from January 25 to February 16 to design their lingerie collection. They will be supported during this period with a stipend of VND3 million (US$150).
Models will wear the lingerie designed by the finalists at the finale on March 10.
The winner will be awarded VND75 million (US$ 3,750) including VND25 million ($1,250) in cash and VND50 million ($2,500) of expenditure for the winner to compete in the Berlin international competition.
It is the fourth time that this contest has been organized to promote local amateur designers and promising talent worldwide.
