Sweden awards Vietnamese photographers for capturing Scandinavian inventions in daily use
The Swedish Embassy handed three awards to Vietnamese photographers on Wednesday for their submissions to a contest entitled Swedish Innovations through a Vietnamese Lenses, which attracted more than 600 pictures.
 
Hanoi Photographer Vu Quang Ngoc claimed first prize with his photo of an Adjustable wrench. With his picture, Ngoc won a trip to Sweden which includes cultural tours to the Nobel museum and Fotografiska, the photographic museum in Stockholm.
Hua Tat Dat of Ho Chi Minh City won first runner-up with his image of a ball bearing. He'll receive a round-trip flight from Vietnam to Phuket.
Vu Quang Hung’s image of the modern refrigerator and centigrade thermometer won third prize. Hung received a round flight to Bangkok. Hung also took the viewer's choice award with 9,820 Facebook likes.
“A photo is worth a thousand words and I’m really impressed with Vietnam's innovative spirit,” Camilla Mellander,Swedish Ambassador to Vietnam said in a press release.
“We received more than 6,000 wonderful photos from photographers across Vietnam and they have had made an important contribution in strengthening the two countries’ understanding and cultural exchange, boosting the friendship between the two countries’ people,” she added.
The 27 best photos from the competition will be displayed at Hoa Sen University at 8 Nguyen Van Trang Street in District 1 until the end of the month.
