An exhibition featuring documentary photos of Hanoi's ancient streets in the old quarter along with contemporary art works portraying the capital opened August 13 at the Viet Art Center in Hanoi.
According to organizers, the exhibition, titled "Streets of Memory" aims to explore the stories behind the names of capital's Old Quarter streets. Under the French, streets assumed the name of the craft practiced in the homes there.
In addition, the exhibition will feature a display of crafts wrought in Hang Ma and Hang Long.
A forum will be held on August 18 at the Center where experts will discuss ways to preserve the city's most celebrated quarter.
"Streets of Memory" will close on August 19. The Viet Art Center is located at 43 Yet Kieu Street.
