Ho Chi Minh City will get artsy this Saturday when local and international artists rock up to the "Concrete Canvasses" street festival to show off their talents.
Organizers said the event is aimed at celebrating the growing street art in the city and creating a playground for artists to meet their art patrons.
It will feature live murals painting, a street photography exhibition, live performance art, live music and freestyle sports,
All activities will take place at the 3A Alternative Art Area, 3A Ton Duc Thang Street, District 1.
Local DJs including Maraphobia, Cheezy Gangstaz, Demon Slayer, will perform at the main festival, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., as well as musical acts Emcee K and Tuyen Bui.
Artists including Kim Co, Tran Hai Binh, Mai Hoang, Thanh Xinh, Cong Thanh, Frenemy Life, Holm, Dan Nguyen, Sarah Patterson, Viet Max, Muriel, Chicko, Endo, Leur, Dazger and Baum will produce their masterpieces as Fancy Crew and Bigsouth Crew entertain visitors with their dance skills.
There is also a photography exhibition while other street-based activities ranging from parkour to freestyle BMX to skateboarding take place throughout the day.
Starting at 8 p.m., the year-end party soundtrack will be provided by DJ Matrixx, DJ Jase, DJ Vincent and The Current Will Carry Us while VJs Julian and Kinect provide visual mapping.
Unicorn Studio’s Yumi + KC will perform contemporary dance and all the artworks from the day will be lit up with floodlights.
Food and drinks will be served throughout the event.
Tickets are VND50,000 (including 1 drink) for the street art festival and VND150,000 (including 1 drink) for the year-end party. A combo for 2 events costs VND170,000.
