July 7 saw the Intercontinental Asiana hotel in Ho Chi Minh City host the Spanish wine exhibition, the biggest event of its kind in Vietnam.
Organized by the Spanish Economic and Commercial Office in HCMC and the Spanish Embassy, the event showcased more than 150 different wines from 25 wineries from various regions in Spain. The exhibition also allowed importers and distributors to taste the wines on offer.
As well as the wine fair and the exhibition, the Spanish Economic and Commercial Office in HCMC also held a specialized training course about wine culture for managers and employees in the hospitality sector.
"This Spanish wine exhibition offers a journey through different regions in Spain and displays diversified wine products ranging from more classic wines to new and creative wines," said Nguyen Huong, a customer.
Speaking about how the event went, Alberto Cerdan, Economic and Commercial Counselor said: "First impressions are good.
There were 60 Spanish wine companies that wanted to join the exhibition but we chose just 25 that offer high quality and reasonably priced diversified products that are exported a lot. After the seminar, we realized that the local experts know a lot about wine and what they are looking for. They made contact with the Spanish wine makers."
