A two-day conference on Southeast Asian documentary films will kick off at the Goethe Institute in Hanoi, on June 11.
Vietnam's Nguyen Trinh Thi, Sakti Parentean from Indonesia, Nico Mesterharm from Cambodia, Jag Garcia from the Philippines and other leading documentary film producers from the region will join the event.
They will discuss the development of the genre in Southeast Asia, how to support one another and maximize each country's potential for promoting their films.
They will also consider ideas for a future Southeast Asian documentary film festival.
The third International Documentary Film Festival will feature filmmakers from Italy, France, Germany, Denmark and Vietnam. The festival will bring screenings to both Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City from June 6 to 11.
