The performance of South African born singer Matt Vend and The Tender Ten, as well as support bands, will kick off the new year at Hanoi Rock City (HRC) at 9 p.m. on Jan 6.

According to a press release from HRC, Vend is versatile, enjoyable and an addict of the stage, with literally hundreds of live performances under his belt. His vocals, harmonica, melodica, with his Tender 10 (guitar, bass, any other instruments that are around) will bring a buoyant acoustic sound to local rock fans, helping them to usher in a brand, spanking new year in high spirits.

Matt Vend and The Tender Ten is the long overdue solo project of South African-born singer songwriter and nomad Matt "Beard" Wilson. He was a lead vocalist of Car Boot Vendors, a band that described its music as acoustic music the way it shouldn't be played.

Currently on tour across Southeast Asia on the brink of an imminent debut solo album release, Matt Vend and The Tender 10 have roots in punk and folk-inspired punk/rock 'n roll, with Beard's long-running band Sibling Rivalry gaining a loyal and cult-like following across South Africa. The Car Boot Vendors was the first of its kind to emerge from the city of Durban.

Vend also recorded in the studio with afro/reggae band Fruit and Veggies, new school/hardcore band Misled, and MC/hip hop producer Blaq Hitler.

Tickets are priced at VND 50 000. Hanoi Rock City is located on 27/52 To Ngoc Van, Tay Ho District.
