A series of concerts, featuring world classic masterpieces, will take place in Ho Chi Minh City's Opera House and Conservatory of Music from May 9-28.
Russian Night, performed by Ho Chi Minh City Ballet and Symphony Orchestra (HBSO),will feature several works of the Russian greats Piotr Tchaikovsky, Sergei Rachmaninov and Modest Mussorgsky. The concert will take place at the Opera House on May 9.
The orchestra will also perform the music of Verdi's "La Traviata", Puccini's "La Boheme" and selections from both Mozart and Bellini in the first half, and a ballet suite "Monsoons" in the second half of the concert, entitled Chamber Music and a Ballet Suite, on May 19.
Tickets range from US$3-$12 and can be purchased at the Opera House box office on Dong Khoi St, Dist. 1.
Also in HCMC, the International Choir and Orchestra will have two performances on May 27 and 28 at the city's Conservatory of Music.
The concerts will feature Mozart's "Coronation Mass" and Vivaldi's "Gloria" along with a classical guitar and orchestra piece, a little Elgar and a folk tune.
