Serbia's Tijana Rakic and Ecuador's Jennifer Stephanie Pazmino were on Wednesday pronounced winners of the Miss Earth 2010 Ao dai (Vietnam Traditional tunic) and Evening Gown competitions respectively.
Designer Dinh Van Tho's red lace Ao dai won the judges' vote for the Serbian beauty.
Talking to the press, Rakic said that she felt more confident and like an Asian girl on wearing a traditonal costume of such stunning beajuty.
22-year-old Ecuador Pazmino, noted as one of the strong candidates for the crown, enchanted in in a white gown encrusted with gemstones.
She had earlier made it to the top five contestants for the Miss National Costume title with a blue dress reflecting her country's rich marine life.
During the competition, organisers Thanh Nien Media Corporation, Thanh Nien News paper, Vinpearl JSC and other sponsors donated nearly VND2.5 billion to flood victims in tje central region.
On Nov 20, the contestants will compete for the Miss Beach Beauty title in Phu Yen province. After leaving Phu Yen, three groups of contestants will head to Da Nang and Hoi An to join many environmental awareness raising activities like the Earth Hour and Lantern Festival.
One group of contestants who will remain to stay in Nha Trang will plant trees and explore traditional herbal health-care therapy.
The coronation night of the contest will be held on Dec 4 at Vinpearlland Resort and Spa and will be telecast live on local and international channels including VTV (VTV1 and VTV4), Star World and ABS_CBN Filipino.
