Auditions for Vietnam Next Top Model 2011, local version of the similarly-named US hit reality show, will be held in Ho Chi Minh City on August 16 and in Hanoi on August 23.

The contest, produced by VTV3 Channel and Multimedia JSC, will be based on the original format of the show in US.

Vietnamese women aged from 18-25 over 1.68 meters tall, will compete in four rounds featuring casual wear, bikini, talent, interview and photo shoots.

Organizers said more than a thousand women have applied to audition for the contest.

Applications are still available on the show's website www.vietnamnexttopmodel.com.

The selections will take place at HCMC's Riverside Palace Conventional Center and Hanoi's Garden Mall.

Semifinalists selected from the auditions will be trained by leading local and international specialists in fashion industry.

This year's show will be aired on VTV3 channel on every Sunday from September 25.

The winner and first runner-up from the first edition of the contest held last year, Huyen Trang and Tuyet Lan, have represented Vietnam at the Best Model of the World 2011 contest in Bulgaria and Asian Model Search in Singapore.

Huyen Trang was crowned Best Asian model in the world contest while Tuyet Lan won the one held in Singapore.
