After the huge inaugural launch last year, outdoor ASEAN Music Fest will return on May 24 to the ideal outdoor setting of Hanoi's American Club.

Featuring bands from the Association of Southeast Asian nations (ASEAN) members as well as art and community groups around Hanoi, the event will give local music-lovers a chance to enjoy entertainment from Southeast Asian and Vietnamese youth.

In addition to live musical performances, the all-day festival themed ASEAN PRIDE will include a food, beverages and art market, run by the Hanoi Flea Market.

Parents will also have access to a children’s play area.

So far, Protocol Afro (Indonesia), Big Bag (Myanmar), The Pinholes (Singapore) and Stylish Nonsense (Thailand), and a handful of Vietnamese artists have confirmed that they'll attend the event.

Hosted by the US embassy in Hanoi and CAMA Vietnam, the fest also aims to promote cultural vibrancy and raise awareness about ASEAN community pride by eliminating inequality and discrimination toward lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people.

Free tickets are available for ASEAN citizens.

A limited amount of advance tickets priced at VND320,000 (US$16) are available to others starting May 1 at CAMA ATK, 73A Mai Hac De St., or via

The American Club is located at at 19-21 Hai Ba Trung Street in Hanoi.
