Portraits of heroic Vietnamese mothers on display

The exhibition dedicated to local mothers whose children died protecting the motherland against invasive forces, opened at the Southern Women's Museum on December 20, 2011 and will run through April, 2012.

The exhibition introduces 100 portraits of mothers, along with 300 artifacts depicting their daily routine and revolutionary activities during in two wars of resistance, which overthrew French colonialism and repelled America's unjustified invasion, Tuoi Tre newspaper said.

The presentation also focuses on different keepsakes of the soldiers, the paper reported.

Before the exhibition, some of the heroic mothers met with guests who also survived the wartime era, Tuoi Tre said.
