Pop star Katy Perry will visit Ho Chi Minh City next month to attend an event organized by Forbes Vietnam.
The singer is scheduled to join the Under 30 Summit on May 12, a forum that will bring together senior government officials, speakers, entrepreneurs and social activists in the “30 Under 30” list by Forbes Vietnam.
She will join the day-long event as a UNICEF goodwill ambassador.
Perry herself has made Forbes’ 30 Under 30 list this year, joining other influential names in various industries including technology, food, finance and media.
She is expected to talk to Vietnamese young people and encourage them to discuss their future plans and raise their voice in important matters, a UNICEF representative said at a press briefing in HCMC on Tuesday.
She is not scheduled to perform, he said.
Around 800 people will attend the event.
