A photo exhibition, entitled "Face-to-Face with Drugs," by photographer Pham Hoai Thanh, will open at Hanoi's Exhibition House from June 21-25.
This is the first photo exhibition to present an intimate portrait of drug users in Vietnam, following the success of the photographer's two photo exhibitions about people living with HIV: "Life Going On I & II" in 2005 and 2008 respectively.
"Face-to-Face with Drugs" features the stories of 50 people who have overcome or still use drugs, capturing their lives and struggles in a simple, powerful way.
On the opening day, visitor will have chance to view the photos and speak to Thanh and some of his subjects.
During the past eight years,Thanh has solely photographed people with HIV. In addition to three photo exhibitions, the 41-year-old photographer has released two photo books on the HIV positive community.
Admission is free. The venue is located at 29 Hang Bai Street.
