A photo exhibition on General Vo Nguyen Giap will open on August 22 in Hanoi to celebrate the Vietnam legend's 100th birthday.
The event will include 200 photos to feature Giap's glorious army life through two centuries. The photos are selected from 300 in a photo book about the general, which will be published soon.
Vo Nguyen Giap is not only the Vietnam People's Army's first commander, but also the only one among the country's greatest generals to reach the age of 100, according to Professor Vu Khieu.
He is listed as world's greatest generals through history thanks to his great virtues and unceasing victories on Dien Bien Phu Battlefield in 1945 and during Vietnam War, which played important role in Vietnam's independence.
The exhibition will run until September 3 at Hanoi's Exhibition House, 45 Trang Tien, and also commemorates the 66th year anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2.
