Vietnam's Got Talent Season Two winner Tran Huu Kien performs at the reality show's season finale on April 21 in Ho Chi Minh City on April 21.
Tran Huu Kien, a 27-year-old apprentice lawyer from the central province of Thanh Hoa, has won the second season of the Vietnam's Got Talent reality show.
Kien was named the winner at the season two finale on April 21 in Ho Chi Minh City, his tenor voice having earned him 33 percent of the public's votes. First place carries with it a cash prize of VND500 million (US$23,894).
Kien beat out Hoa Mau Don, a circus troupe of orphaned children, by just one percent.
The show's judges advised him to quit his current job to become a singer.
Kien deferred credit to his younger brother who he said encouraged his singing and helped him register for the reality show, as well helped him to select the songs. His brother also coached him as to how they should be sung.
Kien said that he has never been formally trained but is now considering to taking vocal lessons after winning Vietnam's Got Talent.
The trainee lawyer said he will give VND10 million (US$480) from his prize money to the Hoa Mau Don orphanage and some to a needy relative in hometown of Thanh Hoa.
