After a nearly 50-year restoration, the Vietnam Historical Museum will display a collection of the Nguyen Kingdom's treasures.

The collection will open on Saturday (October 9) and includes three seals, two swords, two caps and two tea-sets. The items were cast in 1806 out of gold during the dynasty of King Minh Mang. Experts have lauded the quality of these skillfully crafted objects, which were often used by the Nguyen kings.

These treasures were publicly displayed for the first time in 1961 on the occasion of National Day. Unfortunately, during the exhibition, a gold seal was stolen. The seal was recovered, but the exhibit was promptly closed.

Vietnam's Historical Museum Authority closed the exhibit and sent the whole collection to the State Bank of Vietnam for a thorough restoration and safekeeping.
