An ao dai from Hung's collection to be introduced in New York on April 2
Vietnamese designer Duc Hung will exhibit his ao dai designs in the US, thanks to an invitation from BoConcept of New York City, the newswire Vnexpress reported this week.
The exhibition will take place at in New York City on April 24, featuring both traditional and modern ao dai styles.
Hung said the national costume for Vietnamese women should represent traditional folk culture in order to maintain its original beauty; and that he is proud to have the opportunity to introduce Vietnamese culture abroad.
The Hanoi-born designer has impressed foreign audiences with ao dai exhibits in France, Japan, Russia, and San Jose, California in the US last year.
He has also designed ao dai and other traditional costumes for Vietnamese models participating in local and international beauty contests.
