A solo painting exhibition by artist Tran Minh Tam will run at Cactus Contemporary Art in Ho Chi Minh City September 15 to Oct 15, according to a press release from the gallery this week.
Entitled "The Form", the exhibition includes 10 oil paintings on canvas, conveying a wide range of subjects that offer viewers individual insights about the environment, society and humans, said the release.
A young artist with a deep passion for art, Tran Minh Tam has exhibited his works around in the US., France, and Singapore. His paintings have also appeared in many solo collections abroad.
"In the process of fine art creation, I am constantly in search of the forms which are the best selected way of displaying an ordinary object to expose its simple self-attractiveness. The so-called pure visual language the forms with just a cursory look, we are immediately overwhelmed by their own beauty," he said in the release.
The artist said that "The Form" is the fruits of the last few years.
"They are my sensory experience of the image and the subject. An interaction between physicality and mentality. A synthesis of formalism and implications. They evoke rather than assert."
"Here I am not discussing the meaning or the messages behind as they manifest themselves in every painting of mine. Also each person has their own way of exploring, interpreting and thinking about the art work, which I believe is of the same significance as the work itself."
Cactus Contemporary Art is located on 17/12 Nguyen Huy Tuong Street, Ward 6, Binh Thanh District, HCMC.
